PREFACE
Request to borrow this book
A Guide to orchids of the World shows you how to identify and cultivate a marvellous array of orchids. The orchid family has some of the most varied and fascinating flowers in the plant kingdom. Orchids grow in almost every habitat, from the subterranean in which orchids grow completely underground, to mountain cloud forests. Despite their often exotic natural surroundings, many orchids are surprisingly easy to grow.
More than 450 species are discussed and illustrated. There is also detailed information on classification, pollination, propagation and pests and diseases, to serve both the novice and the professional grower.
